Head Teacher

Full-Time Leadership Role

Head Teachers serve as primary caregivers to our children and mentor teachers to Brandeis University students, student teachers, and Teaching Fellows. They work collaboratively in planning curricula, meeting with parents, and evaluating the program.

Schedule & Hours

The position is 40 hours per week, with 6 hours of daily in-classroom time plus 1 hour of planning time (classroom hours scheduled between 8am-6pm), plus one evening per week for staff meetings.

Mentorship Role

Head teachers mentor Brandeis University students, student teachers, and Teaching Fellows, helping develop the next generation of early childhood educators.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary caregiver and educator for classroom children
  • Mentor and supervise Brandeis students, student teachers, and Teaching Fellows
  • Collaboratively plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Conduct parent meetings and maintain positive family relationships
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and participate in continuous improvement
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and program planning
  • Maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment

Teacher

Full-Time & Part-Time Available

Teachers work directly with children in our classrooms, implementing our educational philosophy and curriculum. We have positions available for both the school year and summer sessions.

Teaching Fellow Program

For recent graduates with early childhood education experience and a BA/BS in EEC or related field. Teaching Fellows work under mentor teachers to develop strong teaching and supervisory skills in our model classrooms.

Team Environment

Teachers work alongside Head Teachers and support Teaching Assistants. Each classroom typically has 2-3 TAs throughout the day working with the teaching team.

Note: Part-time positions are available in our classrooms for both school year and summer teaching positions.
